There are many ways that the body of Christ can support their missionaries. As we begin a new year, I have compiled a list of some of the top ways that you and your church can bless your missionaries.  Christ has called us all to be part of His mission to reach the nations with the gospel.  I love John Piper’s summary: “Go, send, or disobey.” I want to encourage you to fulfill your role as senders in the mission of Christ, and intentionally seek to bless your missionaries this upcoming year.   More

The Radicals Who Stay

Radical Stayers3Who is the most radical person you know? I once knew a man who was constantly trying to convince people that he and they should quit their jobs, sell everything they have, and just do evangelism all day, everyday. This was his idea of radical. This was his idea of what he thought Jesus meant when he told the rich young ruler to sell all his possessions, give to the poor, and follow Jesus (Matthew 19:16-22). This was what he thought Jesus’ point was when he told the story of the rich fool who built new store houses to store up all his grain for himself to live on for years to come (Luke 12:13-20). Philippians 1: Prayer, Partnership, Suffering, & Love

Weston RootLast week I  was privileged to share the Word in chapel with fellow Missionary Trainees and Home-based Staff from To Every Tribe. I wrestled with what to speak on and I ended up deciding on the first section of Paul’s letter to the Philippians, verses 1-11. Mainly I decided this because I was already studying Philippians so it seemed natural to start there.  As I studied this text, I was surprised at how instructed I was not only as a follower of Christ, but as one preparing to be a missionary.
