Dear Ministry Partners,
On behalf of To Every Tribe’s Board of Directors, it is with great sadness that I write to inform you that the board has voted to end David Sitton’s affiliation with To Every Tribe. This is not the path that the board desired and this decision has not been made lightly, but is the result of a long process.
Early this spring, the board conducted an extensive, intensive review of the entire ministry and its leadership. That review identified some significant past and present issues that prompted the board to place David on sabbatical and remove him from all ministry duties until these issues could be addressed. In order to ensure that an appropriate plan of action was put in place to restore David to the ministry, the board hired a highly recommended and qualified organization specializing in minister care to conduct their own review and make recommendations. Their review affirmed the findings of the board and they proposed a structured plan of action to address the issues and restore him to the ministry. The board asked David to follow this structured plan and he has refused to do so. As a result, the board has voted to end his affiliation with To Every Tribe. The board and leadership of To Every Tribe are available to answer questions that might arise related to this decision.
It should be noted that the decision to end To Every Tribe’s affiliation with David Sitton has no impact whatsoever on To Every Tribe’s mission, distinctives, or statement of faith. The board recently passed resolutions unanimously reaffirming To Every Tribe’s commitment to these foundational documents of the ministry. We are excited about the future of To Every Tribe and believe that God has provided the right leadership to grow and expand our ministry to better fulfil our mission to extend the worship of Christ among all peoples by mobilizing the church, training disciplemakers, and sending missionary teams to plant churches among the unreached.
