Journey with To Every Tribe
We are a community of believers who want to build a sustainable mission among the unreached. We train our church planters to engage communities to bring the gospel to the lost and make disciples who will observe all that Jesus commanded.
-
What some people call church planting we label as church starting. Church starting is when you start with a formal gathering and try to build an infrastructure to attract and keep people attending. We train people in how to plant a church. We believe church planting is when you engage a community to bring the gospel to the lost, make disciples, and then help those disciples form into a local church.
-
The best way to prepare for ministry is to be in ministry. We use a Tell, Show, Experience Model of training.
Tell / We use formal training to teach church planters how to cross cultures and plant churches.
Show / We bring our church planters into multiple contexts to show them how to engage those communities.
Experience / We give church planters an assignment on the border of Mexico and the USA, at the nexus of some of the most complex issues of our day such as poverty, human migration, and drug and human trafficking.
-
Our overarching mission is to see Christ worshiped among all peoples. For that purpose we have a strong concentrated focus on making disciples who will observe all that Jesus commanded. We believe this happens with the establishment of local churches that plant other churches. We believe that it is the church that must reproduce. For that reason, you will never see a To Every Tribe church, but instead To Every Tribe investing into local churches around the world to help them advance into areas where churches are needed.
-
We train on the border of Mexico and the USA, dealing with a trans-national culture that extends throughout northern Mexico and southern Texas. This allows our church planters to experience a daily immersion into a multicultural ministry context as an integral aspect of their training.
-
Our primary focus is to help each potential church planter to understand their gifts, skills, talents, and passions given to them by God and show them how to use those attributes on mission. We use five different assessment tools to help church planters understand their: work traits, learning style, cross-cultural competence, internal sources of authority, and optimal field location. It is our passion to help people know their place in the mission and then prepare them to go and serve.
-
Your family is important to us and we are passionate about preparing you all for the mission. Children of cross-cultural church planters will become Third Culture Kids. Equipping kids as much as possible for the changes that are coming is important. We help kids appreciate new people and ways of doing things. We focus on some of the key questions that children need answers to as they prepare to live cross-culturally. We desire the whole family to thrive in the work, not just survive.
-
We are more than just a missions agency, we are a training and sending community and ecosystem. In addition to helping people find their place in the mission, we also provide robust missionary care, field support, security and global awareness guidance, and a host of other support systems. It is our passion that every church planter is not only faithful with the gospel, but also fruitful in their work and able to endure through the trials and tribulations of cross-cultural ministry. To be part of To Every Tribe is to be part of a family of people who are committed to the mission and committed to your success.
