This position is responsible for strengthening a young, reproducing indigenous church by joining an existing missionary team in a remote First Nation community. Working alongside a missionary family already on-field, your goal is to edify the church plant through intentional discipleship of men and women while simultaneously building a robust youth and children’s ministry. You will utilize the Eight Phases of Pioneer Church Planting to move the congregation toward maturity and self-sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborative Partnership: Work constructively alongside the existing missionary family to maintain a unified team presence in the community.
  • Adult Discipleship: Come alongside indigenous men and women to provide deep, scriptural discipleship that strengthens their spiritual walk and leadership potential.
  • Youth Programming: Lead programs for children and youth that teach the narrative of the Bible and clearly proclaim the gospel.
  • Phase Implementation: Apply the Eight Phases of Pioneer Church Planting to guide the current plant toward a healthy, reproducing status.
  • Biblical Counseling: Provide counsel from the Scriptures to individuals and families seeking help with the complexities of following Jesus.
  • Crisis Support: Be available to help and support community members during times of crisis, demonstrating the love of Christ through presence and action.
  • Equipping Believers: Host gatherings focused on teaching God’s Word with accuracy, with the goal of equipping local believers to eventually teach others.
  • Cultural Learning: Maintain the heart of a student, learning the local culture, language, and community values to enhance relational trust.
  • Holistic Service: Assist the community in meeting felt needs, which may include areas such as literacy, education, or social justice.

Essential Qualifications

  • Commissioned by a local church as a missionary and in agreement with To Every Tribe’s mission and Statement of Faith.
  • Completion of Missionary Training 
  • Ability to work together constructively with teammates in a remote, isolated environment.

Salary

This position is full-time and fully support-based. The worker is required to raise a team of financial and prayer partners to fund all salary, taxes, and ministry expenses. A fundraising coach is provided upon acceptance.
