Missionary to Women and Children

Ecuador

Location:

Southeastern Ecuador

Department:

Sending & Planting

Ideal Profile:

Family unit or Single woman

This role is based in the largest town of a remote jungle county where a To Every Tribe family has labored to establish the first gospel-proclaiming church.

Your focus as a Missionary to Women and Children will be to help strengthen this local church through intentional evangelism and discipleship of women, along with enlisting help from the local believers to build a robust, reproducible, gospel-focused ministry for children and youth as a ministry of the church.

Key Responsibilities

  • Language & Culture Acquisition: Commit to full-time language study (1-2 years) and cultural immersion to achieve mastery in Spanish and deepen cultural understanding.
  • Community Engagement: Establish a godly presence in the county seat town, seeking ways to engage and serve through meaningful interactions that build relationships and open doors for gospel-centered conversations.
  • Equipping Women: Come alongside local believing women to provide deep discipleship in the Scriptures, with the goal of equipping them to be able to teach others.
  • Mentorship: Mentor women in the church to lead and sustain the women’s, children’s, and youth ministries.
  • Youth & Children’s Ministry: In collaboration with the local church, build and implement programs for children and youth that teach the Scriptures, clearly proclaim the gospel, and include exciting activities. Examples may include Children’s Bible Clubs, Sunday School, Youth Group, Vacation Bible School, and English Language Classes.
  • Strategic Mobilization: In all ministry activities, seek to impart a vision of reaching the unreached of our county and beyond with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
  • Reproducibility: Design all ministry activities in a reproducible and culturally-responsible manner so that they can be implemented in new church plants.
  • Implement the 8 Phases: Build trust, learn the culture, and preach the gospel. Nurture new believing women and children through discipleship in the context of the local church, helping them to discover and use their spiritual gifts to serve one another in the body.
  • Short-Term Trips: Support visiting mission teams and volunteers, helping them adapt to the local context and ensuring their contributions align with the needs of the local church.
  • Partnership: Communicate regularly with donors and supporting churches, providing updates on ministry activities and sharing prayer needs to strengthen partnerships.
  • Team Collaboration: Attend and contribute meaningfully to team meetings, coming prepared to discuss ministry progress, challenges, and insights, and actively participate in prayer and planning.
