Mission Field Openings

Field Administrator

Papua New Guinea

Location:

Goroka, Papua New Guinea

Department:

Sending & Planting

Ideal Profile:

Family unit or Husband & Wife unit

We are seeking a detail-oriented individual to run the day to day administrative side of our field operations.

While the mission in Goroka is established, we need a proactive administrator to formalize workflows and manage the complex logistics of missionary life. You will be the primary point person for government compliance, finance, and operational systems, ensuring the ministry remains legal, organized, and effective.

Key Responsibilities

  • Government Relations & Compliance: Manage all interactions with the PNG government regarding immigration; specifically processing work permits, entry visas, and residency renewals for all field missionaries.
  • Process Documentation: Create, write, and organize Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for field operations, documenting processes where none currently exist to ensure continuity.
  • Financial Management: Oversee station finances, including bookkeeping, expense reporting, and managing operational budgets.
  • Logistics & Communication: Coordinate team schedules, manage bookings for mission aviation, and handle communication between the field and home office.

Essential Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and computer skills (Excel, Accounting software).
  • Experience dealing with bureaucracy, legal paperwork, or compliance.
  • Ability to create order out of chaos and document systems clearly.
  • High level of patience and persistence (essential for dealing with government offices).

The "PNG Factor" (Core Competencies)

Adaptable

You thrive in “The Land of the Unexpected.” When government offices change requirements without notice, you remain calm.

Community Focused

You are willing to live in close proximity to fellow missionaries and nationals.

Disciple-Maker

You view your administrative role as a vital ministry that protects and enables the work of the church.

Resilient

You maintain a strong work ethic even in difficult situations.

Team Player

You are willing to step outside your official role to help the team (e.g., helping with a move, manual labor, or emergency transport).

Lifelong Learner

You approach the culture as a student, not just a teacher.

Salary

The person serving in this position raises funds for their salary, ministry expenses and benefits. When you accept the position we will provide you with a fundraising coach who will guide you through the entire process.
