Mission Field Openings
Location:
Department:
Ideal Profile:
We are looking for a hands-on problem solver to oversee the physical needs of the mission station.
In a location where spare parts are scarce and contractors are rare, you will be the primary steward of our buildings and vehicles. This role is vital to keeping the rest of the ministry running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Facility Management: Oversee maintenance and repairs for all existing mission buildings (plumbing, electrical, structural).
- Construction Oversight: Manage new building projects, including material procurement and supervising local labor crews.
- Vehicle Fleet: Oversee the maintenance schedule and repair of mission vehicles (Land Cruisers, trucks, etc.).
- Creative Repair: Diagnose and fix problems without access to standard hardware stores (“MacGyver” skills required).
Essential Qualifications
- Proven experience in general construction, maintenance, or mechanics.
- Ability to troubleshoot creative solutions when “proper” parts aren’t available.
- Experience managing or working alongside a crew.
Adaptable
You thrive in “The Land of the Unexpected.” When supply chains fail, you find another way.
Community Focused
You are willing to live in close proximity to fellow missionaries and nationals.
Disciple-Maker
You prioritize making disciples; every project is an opportunity to evangelize and disciple the national crew members you work alongside, moving beyond simple repairs to invest in people.
Resilient
You maintain a strong work ethic even in difficult, hot, and dirty situations.
Team Player
You are willing to step outside your official role to help the team.
Lifelong Learner
You approach the culture as a student, not just a teacher.
Salary
The person serving in this position raises funds for their salary, ministry expenses and benefits. When you accept the position we will provide you with a fundraising coach who will guide you through the entire process.
