7 Days – Southern Mexico
The Oaxaca Vision Trip is a seven-day journey designed for those prayerfully considering long-term missions (3–5 years or more). This “taste and see” trip allows you to experience firsthand the ministry of To Every Tribe in Oaxaca City and in a nearby indigenous village where the gospel is beginning to take root. You’ll meet missionaries, connect with local believers, and discern whether God may be calling you to serve long-term in Southern Mexico.
the bigger vision
Southern Mexico is home to one of the most diverse and spiritually complex regions in the world. Oaxaca alone has more than 160 distinct indigenous languages and hundreds of small, isolated communities scattered across the Sierra Mountains. Many villages remain unreached with the gospel, with strong barriers of geography, culture, and religion. Evangelicals make up less than 7% of Mexico’s population overall, and in many cities and villages, that number drops below 2%.
To Every Tribe’s strategy in Southern Mexico is to work with a national platform church in Oaxaca City that serves as a launching pad for church planting in remote indigenous villages. This platform provides a place for missionary logistical support, networking with other local churches, and receiving new workers. From there, missionaries are focused on planting and nurturing indigenous-led, self-sustaining churches in nearby communities where no evangelical presence exists.
Currently, our missionaries are deeply involved in a local church in Oaxaca City and are actively evangelizing and gathering believers in an indigenous village that previously didn’t have an established evangelical church. Weekly discipleship and outreach ministries are underway, with a long-term vision of multiplying healthy, reproducing, and indigenous-led churches across the region.

The Need in Oaxaca, Mexico
Unreached villages remain across Oaxaca, with resistance to Christianity in many communities.
Indigenous languages and cultural distinctives create barriers to communication and discipleship.
Strong Catholic traditions mixed with local spiritual practices dominate the religious landscape.
Evangelicals represent a small minority of the population, especially in remote villages.
The region urgently needs missionaries willing to plant, disciple, and walk alongside local believers to see churches become healthy, reproducing and indigenous-led.
