Papua New Guinea Vision Trip
Journey to the Eastern Highlands of Papua New Guinea, to partner with national pastors and reach unreached peoples, experiencing a vital training hub for missionary teams and indigenous leaders. This 9-day vision trip offers a unique opportunity to discern your call to serve in a region deeply in need of theological education and gospel outreach.
9 Days – Eastern Highlands
The Papua New Guinea Vision Trip is a nine-day journey into the highlands of Goroka, designed for those prayerfully considering long-term missions (3–5 years or more). This trip provides an opportunity to see, taste, and experience the ministry of To Every Tribe as we partner with national pastors to reach the remaining unreached peoples of the highlands.
the bigger vision
To Every Tribe’s long-term vision in Papua New Guinea is to establish a strong base of operation — known as the Station — that serves as both a training hub and a launching platform for missionary teams and indigenous leaders. From this Station, we work closely with a network of about 20 local congregations called the New Life Churches. Our shared mission is to raise up, train, and send out leaders to bring the gospel to the least-reached villages, beginning with the remote villages G and S.
While many missionaries are working in accessible areas, vast sections of the highlands remain unreached. These villages are extremely difficult to travel to and live in, requiring both well-trained leaders and a stable mission base for support.
What You’ll Experience on the Trip
Firsthand
Ministry Exposure

Vision Alignment
Learn how pastoral training directly fuels our strategy of sending teams to unreached places like village G and S.
Missionary Life
Meet the missionaries currently serving on the ground, hear their stories, and gain a realistic picture of long-term service in Papua New Guinea.
Prayerful Discernment
Consider whether God may be calling you to serve long-term, either by training pastors, or helping manage the mission station and facilities.
The Need in Papua New Guinea
Nearly 80% of the country is rural, with little to no access to theological education.
Many pastors rise into leadership roles through necessity but lack sound biblical training and discernment.
Legalism, false teaching, and poor doctrine are widespread due to limited theological grounding.
Local Bible colleges cannot meet the need — especially for pastors unable to leave families for extended training.
Countless areas remain unreached or under-reached, with churches struggling to mature in Christ and spread the gospel effectively.
We Are Praying For
A missionary unit with experience and a passion for training pastors — to partner with the current field director in equipping national leaders.
A missionary unit gifted in operations and maintenance — to help manage the station, oversee upkeep, and free up the field director to focus on training ministry.
why this trip matters
This vision trip is not a tourist experience—it is an invitation to prayerfully consider long-term service in a context where gospel workers are desperately needed. You will return with a clear understanding of both the joys and challenges of missionary life in Papua New Guinea, and whether God may be leading you to move there and join the work.
