The Missionary of Discipleship and Mobilization supports To Every Tribe’s mission to extend the worship of Jesus to every tribe in Southern Mexico by working under the guidance of the Field Director. This role focuses on working within the El Calvario network to edify, strengthen, and mobilize a specific platform church in Oaxaca.

 

You will invest deeply in a local congregation to build spiritual maturity and prepare the body for active outreach and leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with fellow team members to expand the reach and impact of the Southern Mexico ministry in Oaxaca.
  • Church Membership: Actively participate as a dedicated member of an El Calvario church in the Oaxaca City metro area, serving and building up the church community with humility, patience, and love.
  • Relationship Building: Serve faithfully within the church to establish trust and credibility, investing time to earn a position of leadership within the congregation.
  • Teaching & Preaching: As trust and opportunities develop, teach and preach within your local church and be open to teaching in other El Calvario churches to support and strengthen the entire network.
  • Ministry Mobilization: Partner with church leadership in evangelizing the lost, discipling current believers, mobilizing the church body, and training future leaders.
  • Logistical Support: Assist with the coordination and support of short-term mission teams and volunteers, helping them integrate into the culture and contribute meaningfully to ministry objectives.
  • Team Engagement: Participate regularly in team meetings, coming prepared to discuss progress, challenges, and new ideas, and actively engage in prayer and planning for the ministry’s goals.
  • Conflict Resolution: Commit to being a peacemaker within the team and church, actively seeking to resolve conflicts with grace and humility, fostering understanding, and promoting unity through prayer, open communication, and a spirit of reconciliation.
  • Language Mastery: Set aside regular time to study Spanish, always seeking to achieve a higher level of mastery of the language.

Essential Qualifications

  • To be in agreement with To Every Tribe’s mission, distinctives, and Statement of Faith.
  • Commissioned, Licensed, or Ordained by a Sending Church.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • Capacity to teach and preach, and willingness to contextualize to the local culture.
  • Personable: reasonably outgoing and able to converse with a wide range of people.
  • Committed to be a full-time learner.
  • Able to work well in a team-based environment.
  • Proficiency in Spanish or willingness to dedicate significant time to language study, with a commitment to cultural sensitivity and adaptability.
  • Willing to live within the region to fully engage in the life of the local church, the ICUOAX network, and the surrounding community.
  • Able to handle differences on secondary doctrines with grace and patience, trusting in the Holy Spirit and the power of God’s Word to bring transformation, while fostering unity and focusing on primary gospel truths.
  • This position requires the employee to live within the community where they serve to fully engage in the life of the local church and community.

Compensation

This position is full-time (40+ hours weekly) and is fully support-based. The worker is required to raise a team of financial and prayer partners to fund all salary, taxes, administrative fees, and ministry expenses.
