The Remote Church Planter is a Field Missionary who will support To Every Tribe’s mission to extend the worship of Jesus to every tribe in Southern Mexico by working under the guidance of the Field Director to implement the ministry strategy for a strategic region in Oaxaca.

 

This role is focused on church planting within a remote unreached or under-reached community in Oaxaca.

Key Responsibilities

  • Language Learning: Dedicate time to learning Spanish as well as the local indigenous language, while actively deepening knowledge of the cultural context to enhance relational ministry and effectiveness.
  • Community Engagement: Establish a presence in a remote unreached/under-reached community, seeking ways to engage and serve through meaningful interactions that build connections and open doors for gospel-centered conversations.
  • Strategic Planning: Think strategically about community engagement, identifying entry points for meaningful relationships and evangelistic opportunities that align with the broader church-planting vision.
  • Implement the 8 Phases Strategy: Build trust and navigate from spiritual conversations to clear gospel presentation. Nurture new believers through foundational discipleship, helping them discover spiritual gifts and publicly affirming emerging leaders to support church development.
  • Team: Participate in regular team meetings, sharing updates, insights, and challenges with the Field Director and collaborating with team members to ensure alignment with ministry goals. 
  • Vision Trips: Support visiting mission teams and volunteers, helping them adapt to the local context and ensuring their contributions align with the church-planting vision.
  • Communication: Provide regular updates to the Field Director on ministry progress, community engagement, and any challenges, maintaining clear and consistent communication.
  • Example: Model a Christ-centered life through personal spiritual disciplines, serving as an example to new believers and community members by embodying the message of the gospel.
  • Partnership: Communicate regularly with donors and supporting churches, providing updates on ministry activities, sharing prayer needs, and celebrating ministry successes to strengthen partnerships and encourage ongoing support.
  • Additional Duties: Responsible for any other items assigned by the Field Director.

Essential Qualifications

  • To be in agreement with To Every Tribe’s mission, distinctives, and Statement of Faith.
  • Commissioned, Licensed, or Ordained by a Sending Church.
  • Strong evangelism, discipleship, and communication skills, with the ability to share the gospel clearly and contextualize biblical teachings for the local culture.
  • Experience in building relationships and establishing trust in cross-cultural settings, particularly in remote or under-reached communities.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote location, staying aligned with the Regional Director and ministry objectives.
  • Commitment to learning Spanish and, if necessary, an indigenous language of the community, with a dedication to cultural sensitivity and adaptability.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work collaboratively, attend team meetings, and foster a gospel-centered team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a peacemaker, handling differences and conflicts with grace and a focus on gospel unity.
  • Willing to live in a remote community and fully engage in the life of the local church and surrounding area.
  • This position requires the employee to live within the community where they serve to fully engage in the life of the local church and community.

Compensation

This position is full-time (40+ hours weekly) and is fully support-based. The worker is required to raise a team of financial and prayer partners to fund all salary, taxes, administrative fees, and ministry expenses.
